The fits are not his to calm,
Oh how sweetly their tiny hands
Find their way to his palm.
His words are not sugar coated,
He is full of one-liners, of wit,
But he speaks truth and wisdom
When we definitely need to hear it.
He works hard and long,
For most of the day, they are apart.
But he loves these babies fiercely,
With all of his heart.
Some days are harder than others,
The training does not end.
When our children cry out "Daddy!",
My spirit begins to mend.
This man was made to be their daddy,
Made to wipe away their tears.
To make them feel loved and wanted
For many, many years.
